Experienced rafters agree that the best white water in the Czech Republic is found just below the Lipno Lake. Rafting this stretch of the river from the town of Lipno nad Vltavou to Loučovice is an adrenaline rush as your raft plummets through channels, rocks and choppy waves. We hop into the raft just below the slalom course and raft down Železňák and St. Procopius rapids all the way till we reach the end of the Loučovice Cascade (Loučovická kaskáda). This is Class 2-4 white water. The heart-pounding journey takes between 90 and 120 minutes.
Make no mistake about it, white water rafting is physically demanding so get ready for a workout. Good news is Tomáš Kobes, a slalom canoeist who competed at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, will be on board, providing you with invaluable tips and tricks about how to face the challenges of the river. His mission is to see to it that you have the time of your life.
Safety always comes first. That is why we reserve the right to turn down prospective rafters who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs or who are physically or mentally unfit. You don’t need to cycle 90 kilometres a day, but you should be fit. After all, this is no amusement park ride. The water is fast and the rocks are many! Also, you need to know how to swim.
Adults as well as accompanied children over 6 may raft towards the Loučovice Cascade. The standard age limit is 18-70.
The price for this section is CZK 1000,- and includes a professional guide’s services as well as all necessary equipment. A competitively priced transfer from Budweis (České Budějovice) or another place may be arranged for larger groups.
